Alemayehu, just 10-years-old, dreams of being a police officer one day.
His mother, who struggles with meeting her son’s most basic needs, simply asks for prayer that she’ll find the strength to continue to care for her children.

A major part of Hawassa Hope is caring for orphans like Rome, a beautiful 5-year-old girl who has lost both of her parents to malaria and is being raised by her grandmother.
Although her circumstances are dire, she continues to dream big and aspires to be a doctor one day. Like most girls, she loves to help her grandmother shop and is by all accounts a “very good child,” but her chance of accomplishing her dreams is very slim without the adequate food, support, and education she needs.
