Tesfa Community School

Education is a fundamental right of every child, and it plays a crucial role in shaping their future.

Unfortunately, in Ethiopia, a significant number of children are deprived of this basic right due to poverty, limited resources, and other socio-economic challenges.

Hawassa Hope aims to help be part of the solution! 

We are in the final stages of building Tesfa Community School just outside of Hawassa, Ethiopia.

Our goals

• To provide financial assistance to underprivileged children in Ethiopia to enable them to access quality education.
• To holistically care for students and their families. 
• To ensure that the children have access to basic literacy, numeracy, and life skills education that will enable them to build a better future for themselves and their communities.
• To promote gender equality by ensuring that girls have equal access to education and are encouraged to pursue their dreams.
• To enhance community participation in education by involving parents and local leaders in promoting education.

We currently need your help!

Due to a generous gift–we have almost 2/3 of the initial amount needed and now just have $117,000 left to raise. We need $60,000 to start this year in September!

Much of that amount included items needed inside the school that you have helped provide from our school gift catalog!

This school will have pre-school through 6th grade and be part of a community in Ethiopia near our children’s home.

We’d love for you to join in by purchasing an item from our school catalog to help furnish the school!

We are also seeking student sponsors at $25 a month. If you can’t give that amount–consider giving partially to help cover a student’s cost for school! We need this amount so we can start in September!
