I had the privilege of visiting  the village in Ethiopia in an area called Arbegona for a second time but this time they had realized a dream – the dream of safe, clean water.

For years the families in this area endured knowing at the water they used was not clean and was the source of illness and even death.

Now a community of over 1,200 people now have water that brings them life.

The verse chosen to mark the gift is James 1:17 as shown below on the plaque. I explained that this project was a gift from God. The thought came to me that each of the children there were also precious gifts from God to their family and community.

I encouraged them to follow Him and to use the talents and resources God gives them to be all the He calls them to be.

The photo below covers the source and serves as protection so that it can’t be contaminated, the concrete cap covers the containment tank that collects water to ensure it flows well with good pressure.

This photo shows some of the children that benefit for this water source. The pipe extends with two spouts where water can be collected in jugs to be carried to individual homes.

The kids had a song they wanted to sing for us and the donors of this water project. They sang out with all of their being and it was such a joy to hear it in person.

Translation of the song

“We have to go to the end of the world to preach the gospel. We have big ambitions to preach! We have promise from God to preach the gospel so we have to tell all of the world”

At the end you can hear “geletemo, Maganu maserohe” which means “Thank you, God bless you.”

An entire community has been changed for the good.

This was our 11th water project and we look forward to the being part of bringing clean water to the next community! Thank you to everyone who has been a part of bringing clean water to Ethiopia.
